Physical Education

Students will continue to develop skills in a variety of team and individual sports. Students will learn healthy strategies in the areas of fitness, nutrition, and social emotional well-being.

Health and Fitness

Students will learn habits and patterns that support fitness and healthy living by exploring such topics as healthy eating and physical activity.

Home and Consumer Sciences

Students will learn life skill necessary to be successful teens and adults.  Emphasis will be placed on keyboarding skills, career planning, creating a resume, job interview skills, creating a budget, cooking/baking and creating a menu.  MRMS will emphasis sewing, nutrition, and child development.

Yearbook

This class is responsible for the production and publication of the school yearbook. Students will be exposed to basic techniques of photography, layout, commercial art, merchandising, and finance of periodicals.

World Cultures

Students will make connections to other cultures through a variety of means. Real experiences will promote interest and inquiry of world cultures. Students will have the opportunity to explore global art and music, experience ethnic foods, and delve into other cultures through hands-on experience.

Peer Support Intern

This program is used to provide typical peer supports for students with special needs in the middle school environment. Peer partners work with students in the classroom setting, and may assist with transitions, academic, prevocational, and social activities. To register for this class, students must complete an ASD20 application packet available in Student Services and will be interviewed.

Workplace Intern

Students will work in an office/library/classroom setting as an assistant to the staff. The student will receive a copy of expectations, will be trained on how to complete the assigned tasks, and will receive an evaluation of their performance.

Library (Geek Squad)

Students will be trained in the area of tech support to offer help to teachers/students.

Library (Slideshow)

Students will work on and produce the 8th grade slideshow.
