Industrial Manufacturing
Students design, test, and evaluate projects related to the woodworking and automobile industries. Topics of study may include computer-aided design, aerodynamics, wind tunnel testing, data collection, analysis, and manipulation. Students use various hand tools, drill presses, palm sanders, band saws, wood burners, routers, disc and belt sanders, scroll saws, and the Laser engraver.
Industrial Technology
Students will expand and develop their technological literacy in our technology lab. Seventh graders will work in teams and complete week long projects that may include: graphic design, movie editing, digital photography, architectural design, robotics, urban planning, rocketry, flight simulation, GPS navigation, and LASERing.
Computer Design
Students will practice keyboarding skills using a typing program. Throughout this course, students will learn how to stay safe while navigating the Internet. This course will build a solid foundation by reinforcing organization and digital literacy. Students will learn the basics of multimedia presentations to creatively communicate with an audience. Projects will incorporate collaboration with peers through technology.
Computer Aided Design & Animation
Students will practice their keyboarding skills. Utilizing a variety of programs students will learn to create their own visual designs and animations. They will learn the aspects of design and the IB Design Cycle throughout this course.
Digital Literacy
Students will learn how to find, evaluate and use information to create original content for a range of purposes. Topics explored include connecting, collaborating and sharing information responsibly in a variety of digital environments as well as investigating the role that media plays in their lives. One class of computer design is required to take this class.
Digital Photo & Video Production
Students will learn the principles of video production and photography to include filming and photography techniques, design principles, film and image editing and technical skills. Students will identify and apply learned skills to digital media projects.
