Welcome to Mountain Ridge Middle School Athletics
Home of the Grizzlies
Mountain Ridge has a rich and robust athletics program that serves all students. Throughout our Intramural and Interscholastic programs, the coaches at MRMS encourage student athletes to reach their full potential by strengthening skills, building character and developing sportsmanship in a positive, fun and safe environment.
We are a proud member of the North Peak Athletic Conference. Members include all Academy School District 20 middle schools, as well as middle schools from Elizabeth and Monument.
Middle school athletics programs focus primarily on skill development, participation, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. All students who register for sports at Mountain Ridge participate in our intramural (IM) programs. Coaches will assess players and select some for the interscholastic (IS) teams at each grade level for those sports that play both IM and IS. The IS teams compete against other schools. Coaches may alter their teams based on ability, attitude, grades, injury, or other factors. We do not hold "tryouts" for interscholastic teams. Players are assessed during practices to determine the athletes chosen for those teams.
7th and 8th graders may participate in all sports. 6th graders may compete interscholastically in Cross Country, Softball, and Wrestling. They may also take part in intramural Swimming, Golf and Grizzly Challenge.
